Try out phpWebSite themes
updated by rck, 2008-04-29

A few days ago, Wayne from the phpWebSite support forums posted a question. Is there a way of previewing and trying all the different phpWebSite themes without downloading them first? A few hours later, there was.

I've implemented a very simple site using Wiki and the Anonymous Theme hack. The Wiki takes care of a history as well, so everyone can check out which new themes there are available for preview.

The site

The sites theme is a rather quick adaption of phpWebSites default theme. I've only changed the colours, the fonts and made a new banner for it. You can find the site at

Submitting new themes

You found a free theme that's not listed? Please tell! The preffered place for that would be my phpWebSite forum. I probably will look through the comments here every once in a while, too.

This theme site works like a charm!
Only I couldn't vote, says I voted already.

Oh. phpWebSite doesn't play nice with out server architecture. I've just applied the patch to fix that. Does it work now?

I liked your site - very easy to view themes!

But how to get them? I didn't see any other links to download the source or go to other websites to buy/download.

    Maybe I missed the links?

    Cheers,
    Kevin

Hi Kevin! The themes are spread all over the net. Some designers don't want them to be downloadable from here. Other themes are somewhat hidden. From others I don't have details.

There was a discussion about making commercial themes available here as well. But the provisioning-scheme didn't work out, also I'd have to implement a lot of things to make it behave the way I'd expect it to.

I tried to keep the whole thing as low an effort as possible. To make it short: If you're interested in a particular theme, please ask in my forums about it and I'll see what I can do!

"I've changed two templates for mine. Feel free to use them"

    Which two templates? I'm curious.
